EXODUS 36
And Bezalel and Oholiab, and every wise-hearted man in whom Yehowah has put wisdom and understanding to know how to undertake the making of the sanctuary, shall work in accordance with all that Yehowah has commanded.* * In the printed text this paragraph is connected to and part of the last paragraph in the previous chapter.
2 And Moses called Bezalel and Oholiab, and every wise-hearted man whom Yehowah had inspired with, wisdom, every one whose heart stirred him to come and do the work; 3 and they took from before Moses all the offering which the sons of Israel had brought for making the sanctuary. Yet they still continued to bring him freewill-offerings every morning. 4 Then all the wise men who were doing all the work of the sanctuary came, each man from his work which he was doing, 5 and they spoke to Moses, and said, The people are bringing more than enough for carrying out the work which Yehowah has commanded to be done. 6 So Moses gave a command, and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp, Let neither man nor woman bring any more material for the offering for the sanctuary. So the people were restrained from bringing; 7 for the material was sufficient for them for all the work that had to be done, and there was some left over.
8 Then all the wise-hearted men among the workmen made the tabernacle with ten curtains; they made them with fine twined linen and violet and purple and double-dyed scarlet, with a pattern of cherubim, the work of a designer. 9 The length of each curtain was twenty-eight cubits, and the width of each curtain was four cubits; all the curtains had the same measurements.
10 Then Bezalel joined five curtains to one another; and he joined the other five curtains to one another. 11 And he made loops of violet on the edge of the first curtain at the end of one set; and he did the same on the edge of the outer curtain in the second set. 12 He made fifty loops on the one curtain, and fifty loops at the end of the curtain which was in the second set; the loops coincided with each other. 13 And he made fifty clasps of gold; and he joined the curtains to one another with the clasps, so that it became one tabernacle.
14 Then he made curtains of goats' hair for a tent over the tabernacle; he made eleven curtains. 15 The length of each curtain was thirty cubits, and the width of each curtain was four cubits; the eleven curtains had the same measurements. 16 And he joined five curtains together, and six curtains together. 17 And he made fifty loops on the edge of the curtain which was the outermost in the set, and fifty loops on the edge of the outermost curtain of the second set. 18 And he made fifty clasps of bronze to join the tent together, to make it one. 19 And he made a covering of red rams' skins for the tent, and a covering of badgers' skins above that.
20 Then he made the upright supports for the tabernacle of acacia wood. 21 The length of each support was ten cubits, and the breadth of each support was a cubit and a half. 22 Each support had two tenons, joined to one another; he made all the supports of the tabernacle the same. 23 And he made the supports for the tabernacle: twenty supports for the south side, on the right; 24 and he made forty bases of silver under the twenty supports, two bases under one support for its two tenons, and two bases under the other support for its two tenons; 25 and for the second side of the tabernacle, for the north side, he made twenty supports, 26 with their forty bases of silver, two bases under one support, and two bases under the other support; 27 and for the two rear parts of the tabernacle on the west he made six supports. 28 And he made two supports for the corners of the tabernacle, for the two rear parts; 29 and they were paired at the bottom, and were coupled together at the top of it to one ring; he did the same for them both, for the two corners. 30 So there were eight supports with their bases of silver, sixteen bases, two bases under each support.
31 And he made bars of acacia wood: five for the supports of the one side of the tabernacle, 32 and five bars for the supports of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the supports of the tabernacle for the two rear parts on the west. 33 And he made the middle bar pass through the middle of the supports from end to end. 34 And he overlaid the supports with gold and made rings of gold for them as housings for the bars; and he overlaid the bars with gold.
35 Then he made the veil of violet and purple and double-dyed scarlet and fine twined linen; it was the work of a designer who made it with a pattern of cherubim. 36 And he made for it four pillars of acacia wood, and overlaid them with gold; and their hooks were of gold, and he cast four bases of silver for them. 37 And he made a screen for the door of the tent, of violet and purple and double-dyed scarlet and fine twined linen, the work of an embroiderer, 38 its five pillars with their hooks. And he overlaid their heads and their fastenings with gold; and their five bases were of bronze.
