NUMBERS 9
Then Yehowah spoke to Moses in the desert of Sinai, in the first month of the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, and he said, 2 The sons of Israel shall keep the Passover at its appointed time. 3 You shall keep it at its appointed time on the fourteenth day of this month when night has fallen; you shall keep it according to all its statutes and regulations. 4 So Moses told the sons of Israel to keep the Passover. 5 And they kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of the first month when night had fallen, in the desert of Sinai; the sons of Israel did just as Yehowah commanded Moses. 6 Now there were certain men who were unclean because of the dead body of a man, so that they could not keep the Passover on that day; and they approached Moses and Aaron that day; 7 and those men said to him, We are unclean because of the dead body of a man; why should we be kept from offering the gift of Yehowah at its appointed time along with the sons of Israel? 8 And Moses said to them, Wait till I hear what Yehowah commands concerning you.
9 Then Yehowah spoke to Moses, and said, 10 Speak to the sons of Israel, and say, If any man of you or your descendants is unclean because of a dead body, or is away on a journey, he shall still keep the Passover of Yehowah. 11 They shall keep it when night has fallen on the fourteenth day of the second month; they shall eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs. 12 They shall leave nothing of it until morning, nor break a bone of it; they shall keep it according to all the statute for the Passover. 13 But the man who is clean and not on a journey, and who fails to keep the Passover, that person shall be cut off from his people; that man shall bear his sin because he did not offer the gift of Yehowah at its appointed time. 14 And if a settler settles among you, and wishes to keep the Passover to Yehowah, he shall do so according to the statute for the Passover and the regulations for it. There shall be one statute for you, the same for the settler as for the man who is born in the land.
15 And on the day that the tabernacle was set up, the cloud covered the tabernacle, that is, the tent of the Testimony; and in the evening it was over the tabernacle with the appearance of fire, remaining until the morning. 16 So it was always; the cloud covered it with the appearance of fire by night. 17 And whenever the cloud was taken up from over the tent, then the sons of Israel set out; and wherever the cloud settled down, there the sons of Israel made camp. 18 At the word of Yehowah the sons of Israel set out, and at the word of Yehowah they made camp; as long as the cloud stayed over the tabernacle they camped. 19 And when the cloud continued over the tabernacle for many days, the sons of Israel performed the duties of Yehowah and did not set out. 20 For sometimes the cloud was over the tabernacle for several days; at the word of Yehowah they camped, and at the word of Yehowah they set out. 21 But sometimes the cloud was there only from the evening till the morning, and the cloud was taken up in the morning, and they set out. Whether it was in the day or in the night when the cloud was taken up, they set out. 22 Whether it was for two days, or a month, or a year that the cloud continued over the tabernacle and settled down on it, the sons of Israel remained in camp and did not set out; but when it was taken up they set out. 23 At the word of Yehowah they made camp, and at the word of Yehowah they set out; they performed the duties of Yehowah at the word of Yehowah through Moses.
