NUMBERS 6

Then Yehowah spoke to Moses, and said, 2 Speak to the sons of Israel, and say to them, When a man (or a woman) makes a special vow, the vow of a Nazirite, to separate himself to Yehowah, 3 he shall separate himself from wine and strong drink; he shall not drink any vinegar of wine or vinegar of strong drink, nor shall he drink any grape-juice, nor eat any fresh or dried grapes. 4 During the days of his separation he shall eat nothing which is produced from the grapevine, not even the seeds or the skin. 5 During the days of his vow of separation no razor shall shave his head; he shall be holy till the end of the time for which he separates himself to Yehowah; he shall let the locks of hair on his head grow long. 6 During the days that he separates himself to Yehowah he shall not go near a dead body. 7 He shall not make himself unclean for his father or mother, or for his brother or sister, if they die; because his separation to God is on his head. 8 He is holy to Yehowah for all the days of his separation. 9 And if anyone dies very suddenly next to him, and he defiles his head in his separation, he shall shave his head on the day when he becomes clean; he shall shave it on the seventh day. 10 And on the eighth day he shall bring two turtledoves or two young pigeons to the priest to the door of the tent of meeting; 11 and the priest shall offer one for a sin-offering and the other for a burnt-offering, and shall make a reconciliation for him, because he has sinned by reason of the dead body; and he shall sanctify his head on that day. 12 And he shall separate himself to Yehowah for the time of his separation, and shall bring a he-lamb in its first year for a trespass-offering; for the former time shall not count, because his separation was defiled.

13 And this is the law for the Nazirite: on the last day of the time of his separation he shall be brought to the door of the tent of meeting, 14 and shall present his gift to Yehowah, one he-lamb in its first year, without a blemish, for a burnt-offering, and one ewe-lamb in its first year, without a blemish, for a sin-offering, and one ram without a blemish for communion-offerings; 15 and a basket of unleavened bread, cakes made with fine flour mixed with oil, and wafers of unleavened bread smeared with oil, with their grain-offering and their drink-offerings. 16 And the priest shall present them before Yehowah, and shall offer his sin-offering and his burnt-offering; 17 and he shall offer the ram with the basket of unleavened bread for a sacrifice of communion-offerings to Yehowah; then the priest shall offer his grain-offering and his drink-offering. 18 And the Nazirite shall shave his head, when he is separated, at the door of the tent of meeting, and take the hair from his head, when he is separated, and put it on the fire which is under the sacrifice of the communion-offerings. 19 And the priest shall take the boiled shoulder of the ram, and one unleavened cake out of the basket, and one unleavened wafer, and shall put them on the hands of the Nazirite after he has shaved for his separation; 20 and the priest shall set them aside as an offering before Yehowah; they are holy for the priest, with the breast that is set aside and the thigh that is reserved; and after that the Nazirite can drink wine. 21 This is the law for the Nazirite who makes a vow, and for his gift to Yehowah for his separation, besides what he can afford; he shall act in accordance with the vow which he makes and in accordance with the law for his separation.

22 And Yehowah spoke to Moses, and said, 23 Speak to Aaron and his sons, and say, In this way you shall bless the sons of Israel; say to them:

24 Yehowah bless you and keep you;

25 Yehowah make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; 26 Yehowah lift up his face on you, and give you peace.

27 So they shall put my name on the sons of Israel, and I will bless them.
