LEVITICUS 17
Now Yehowah spoke to Moses, and said, 2 Speak to Aaron and his sons, and to all the sons of Israel, and say to them, This is what Yehowah has commanded: 3 If any man of the house of Israel slaughters a bull, a lamb, or a goat in the camp, or slaughters it outside the camp, 4 but does not bring it to the door of the tent of meeting, to offer a gift to Yehowah before the tabernacle of Yehowah, blood shall be imputed to that man; he has shed blood; and that man shall be cut off from among his people; 5 so that the sons of Israel may bring their sacrifices which they offer in the open fields, bringing them to Yehowah to the door of the tent of meeting, to the priest, and they may slaughter them for sacrifices of communion-offerings to Yehowah. 6 And the priest shall fling the blood on the altar of Yehowah at the door of the tent of meeting, and shall burn the fat for an odour of rest to Yehowah. 7 So never again shall they offer their sacrifices to goat-demons, with whom they have committed adultery. This shall be a perpetual statute for them throughout their generations.
8 And you shall say to them, If any man of the house of Israel, or any settler who has settled among them, presents a burnt-offering or a sacrifice, 9 but does not bring it to the door of the tent of meeting to present it to Yehowah, that man shall be cut off from his people.
10 And if any man of the house of Israel, or any settler who has settled among them, consumes any blood, I will set my face against that person who consumes the blood, and I will cut him off from among his people. 11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it for you on the altar to make a reconciliation for your lives; for it is the blood that makes a reconciliation for the life. 12 Therefore I say to the sons of Israel, Not one of you shall consume blood, nor shall any settler who has settled among you consume blood. 13 And if any man of the sons of Israel, or any settler who has settled among them, hunts game either of animals or of birds which can be eaten, he shall pour their blood out and cover it with dust.
14 For the life of all flesh is its blood, it is as its life; therefore I say to the sons of Israel, You shall not consume the blood of any flesh. For the life of all flesh is its blood; whoever consumes it shall be cut off. 15 And every person homeborn or settler, who eats what has died a natural death, or what has been torn by animals, shall wash his clothes and bathe in water, and shall be unclean till the evening; then he shall be clean. 16 But if he does not wash them and bathe his body, he shall bear his iniquity.
