Those of the Protestant faith were afterward explored to discover, 1) what idea they had of God; 2) who of them led a life of piety only; 3) who of them went often to churches and made them selves guilty of every sin but did not examine themselves; 4) who of them believed they had led a Christian life by their having lived morally and well because of the civil laws; and 5) who of them were hypocrites.
