10234. 'And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying' means perception as a result of enlightenment from the Lord through the Word. This is clear from the meaning of 'Jehovah speaking to Moses' as enlightenment from the Lord through the Word, dealt with in 10215; and from the meaning of 'saying' as perception, dealt with in 2862, 3509, 5743, 8660. It should be remembered that when some new matter, distinct from what has gone before, is to be presented the words Jehovah spoke to Moses are used, as at verses 11,17,22,34 of the present chapter, and also elsewhere. The new matter that is being presented now has regard to purification from evils and falsities.
