469. Amen.- This signifies confirmation from the Divine, as is evident from the signification of Amen, which denotes truth, and therefore, Divine Truth from the Lord, see above (n. 464). But here it denotes confirmation from the Divine, because it forms the close of the adoration of the angels. Confirmation from the Divine means, that this is Divine Truth, and thus that it is so. When any one speaks Divine Truth from the heart, then the Lord confirms it; confirmation cannot come from any other source; this is signified by Amen, at the end of prayer.
