LEVITICUS 8
Then Yehowah spoke to Moses, and said, 2 Take Aaron together with his sons, and the robes, the anointing-oil, the young bull of the sin-offering, the two rams, and the basket of unleavened bread; 3 and call all the congregation together to the door of the tent of meeting. 4 And Moses did as Yehowah commanded him, and the congregation was called together to the door of the tent of meeting.
5 And Moses said to the congregation, This is what Yehowah has commanded to be done. 6 And Moses brought Aaron and his sons, and washed them with water. 7 Then he clothed him with the tunic, tied the girdle round him, robed him, and put the ephod on him; and he tied the sash of the ephod round him and bound it to him with it. 8 And he put the breastpiece on him, and placed the Urim and the Thummim in the breastpiece. 9 And he set the turban on his head; and on the front of the turban he placed the golden plate, the sacred crown, as Yehowah had commanded Moses.
10 Then Moses took the oil and anointed the tabernacle and everything that was in it, and sanctified them. 11 And he sprinkled some of it on the altar seven times, and anointed the altar and all its vessels, and the layer and its base, to sanctify them. 12 And he poured some of the oil on Aaron's head, and anointed him, to sanctify him. 13 And Moses brought Aaron's sons, and clothed them with tunics, tied girdles round them, and bound skull-caps on them, as Yehowah had commanded Moses.
14 Then he brought the young bull of the sin-offering; and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the head of the bull of the sin-offering. 15 And he slaughtered it; and Moses took the blood and put it all round the horns of the altar with his finger, and purified the altar; and he poured out the blood at the base of the altar, and sanctified it to make a reconciliation for it. 16 And he took all the fat that was on the entrails, and the lobe of the liver, and the two kidneys and their fat; and Moses burnt them on the altar. 17 But the bull, with its skin, its flesh, and its dung, he burnt in a fire outside the camp, as Yehowah had commanded Moses.
18 Then he brought the ram for the burnt-offering; and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the ram's head. 19 And he slaughtered it; and Moses flung the blood all round against the altar. 20 And when he had cut the ram into its parts, Moses burnt the head, with its parts and its fat. 21 And when he had washed the entrails and the legs in water, Moses burnt the whole ram on the altar, as a burnt-offering for an odour of rest, a fire-offering to Yehowah, as Yehowah had commanded Moses.
22 Then he brought the other ram, the ram of consecration; and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the ram's head. 23 And he slaughtered it; and Moses took some of its blood and put it on the tip of Aaron's right ear, and on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot. 24 And he brought Aaron's sons, and Moses put some of the blood on the tips of their right ears, and on the thumbs of their right hands, and on the big toes of their right feet; and Moses flung the blood all round against the altar. 25 And he took the fat, the fat tail, all the fat that was on the entrails, the lobe of the liver, the two kidneys and their fat, and the right thigh; 26 and from the basket of unleavened bread which was before Yehowah he took an unleavened cake, a cake of bread with oil, and a wafer; and he put them on the fat and the right thigh. 27 And he put all these upon the hands of Aaron and his sons, and set them aside as an offering before Yehowah. 28 Then Moses took them from their hands, and burnt them on the altar upon the burnt-offering; they were consecrations for an odour of rest, as a fire-offering to Yehowah. 29 And Moses took the breast, and set it aside as an offering before Yehowah; it was the portion for Moses from the ram of consecration, as Yehowah had commanded Moses.
30 Then Moses took some of the anointing-oil and some of the blood which was on the altar, and sprinkled it on Aaron and his robes, and on his sons and the robes of his sons who were with him; and he sanctified Aaron and his robes, and his sons and the robes of his sons who were with him.
31 Then Moses said to Aaron and his sons, Boil the flesh at the door of the tent of meeting, and eat it there with the bread that is in the basket of consecration, as I commanded when I said, Aaron and his sons shall eat it. 32 But what remains of the flesh and the bread you shall burn in a fire. 33 And you shall not go from the door of the tent of meeting for seven days, until the days of your consecration are fulfilled; because for seven days he will consecrate you. 34 Yehowah commanded it to be done as it was done today, to make a reconciliation for you. 35 And you shall remain day and night at the door of the tent of meeting for seven days, and perform the duties of Yehowah, so that you do not die; for so I am commanded. 36 And Aaron and his sons did all the things which Yehowah had commanded through Moses.
