2823. [Gen. 48:] verse 16. Angel properly means "One sent by Jehovah," thus one who represents Jehovah Himself, so God the Messiah in this sense is called "an Angel," and also for the reason that He speaks through Angels, as in Chapter 31, verses 11 to 13, above.
