[296.] Those who had been members of the Thessalonian church* spoke similarly about them, but they observed them only from above; and recognizing the same characteristics in them, they irately turned away from them as from people altogether to be guarded against. * The church at Thessalonica, the capital city of the Roman province of Macedonia on the northwest coast of the Aegean Sea. Paul's Epistles to the Thessalonians are addressed to the church at Thessalonica.
