This is clear from the representation of the sons of Jacob, to whom 'brothers' refers here, as the Church's truths in the natural, dealt with in 5403, 5419, 5427, 5458, 5512, thus the external part of it; and from the meaning of 'that generation' as the external part of the Church in general, for 'generation' here implies the same thing as Joseph's 'brothers', but in a general sense when used in relation to the latter.
