This is clear from the meaning of 'forgive, I beg you, the transgression' as a confession that they had transgressed, and repentance; from the meaning of 'the servants of your father's God' as an acknowledgement of the Divine things of the Church; for by saying that they are the servants of his father's God, they acknowledge that they serve the Church's God, and in so doing they acknowledge the Divine things there. For Israel, to whom 'father' refers here, means the Church, 4286, 6426.
