6113. 'Found in the land of Egypt and in the land of Canaan' means that was present in the natural and in the Church. This is clear from the meaning of 'the land of Egypt' as the natural where factual knowledge resides, dealt with above in 6111; and from the meaning of 'the land of Canaan' as the Church, also dealt with above, in 6067. The word Church is used here to mean that which constitutes the Church in a person, for a person is a Church when goodness and truth are present in him; and groups of such people make up the Church in general.
