'They came to the place of which God told him' means His state at that point according to perception from Divine Truth. 'And [Abraham] built the altar there' means preparation of the Lord's Divine human.^a 'And laid the pieces of wood in order' means the righteousness that was allied to it. 'And bound Isaac his son' means the state of the Divine rational which, in this condition as regards truth, was about to undergo the last degrees of temptation. 'And laid him on the altar, upon the pieces of wood' means within the Divine human to which righteousness was allied.
