9220. Verses 27-30. Thou shalt not curse God, and a prince in thy people thou shalt not execrate. The firstfruits of thy grain, and the firstfruits of thy wine, thou shalt not delay. The firstborn of thy sons thou shalt give to Me. So shalt thou do with thine ox, and with thy flock; seven days it shall be with its mother; on the eighth day thou shalt give it to Me. And ye shall be men of holiness to Me; and flesh that is torn in the field ye shall not eat; ye shall cast it to the dog. "Thou shalt not curse God," signifies that truths Divine must not be blasphemed; "and a prince in thy people thou shalt not execrate," signifies that neither are the doctrines of truth to be blasphemed; "the firstfruits of thy grain, and the firstfruits of thy wine, thou shalt not delay," signifies that as all the goods and truths of faith are from the Lord, they are to be ascribed to Him, and not to self; "the firstborn of thy sons thou shalt give to Me," signifies all the things of faith which are procured through these; "so shalt thou do with thine ox, and with thy flock," signifies even to exterior and interior good; " seven days it shall be with its mother," signifies their first state when they are in truths; "on the eighth day thou shalt give it to Me," signifies that at the beginning of the following state, when the man lives from good, he is with the Lord; "and ye shall be men of holiness to Me," signifies the state of life then from good; "and flesh that is torn in the field ye shall not eat," signifies that the falsified good of faith shall not be conjoined; "ye shall cast it to the dog," signifies that it is unclean.
