That this signifies truths and goods conjoined, is evident from the signification of "army," as being truths and goods (see n. 3448); and as here the truths and goods signified by the "elders of the house of Pharaoh" and the "elders of the land of Egypt," and by the "house of Joseph" and his "brethren" and also by the "house of their father," were together, therefore by "an exceeding great army" are here signified truths and goods conjoined.
