Those who seduce through a pretence of piety, and thus persuade themselves that adulteries are not contrary to the Christian life, are sent to Gehenna, from which is perceived a stench as of burnt bones and hair, There they suffer from the delusion that they are being bitten by snakes. When they are in heat, they glow; and when they approach heaven, they become cold as ice, which produces wretched torments.
