2861. For there are kinds and species of spirits with this ability, who, when resemblances are called to a person's memory and then portrayed to them, imagine they are those same people. Then all those characteristics are called forth from the memory that portray them, including vocabulary, tone of voice, gestures, and more. Moreover, they are persuaded to imagine this, since other spirits inspire them, for then they are in the fantasy of [the other spirits], imagining that they are those same persons. 1748, 19 Aug.
